The PCID is the only programmable unit available for Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).The unit features a touch screen computer that sends input to the controller. The controller manages the custom-made hand piece. The hand piece accommodates our new surrounded punches, which are much sharper than anything else on the market. All craftmanship is performed in the United States of America.

The computer allows for oscillation and rotation. We continue to work on a translocation feature. With this unit you may set a variety of independent variables to facilitate the removal of grafts. You will find that no two-donor areas are exactly the same. Therefore, a physician needs to have variables that allow him to customize the extraction process to the individual patient's donor characteristics.Only the PCID allows such flexibility in the extraction variables. The touch screen allows the physician to set the parameters easily and quickly. There are no knobs to turn. This also helps protect the unit.It is both patient and physician friendly. The large fonts are easily seen by the physician to insure accuracy in fine-tuning the variables.

While the computer is the brain, the controller sends a specific message to the hand piece based on input from the computer. As the computer variables change, the controller modifies the message to the hand piece. Thus, precise reactions in the mechanical action of the hand piece are insured.

Each hand piece is individually manufactured under exact standards. Then each hand piece is checked to insure it meets the standards of our engineering design. The hand piece has a carefully manufactured motor that is responsive to the variables set by the computer. The Cole Isolation Technique (CITTM) is a method of follicular unit extraction that is dependent on a precise depth control mechanism. This precise depth control minimizes the probability of follicle injury or transection.CITTM has the lowest rate of follicle injury and is the fastest method of manual follicle extraction.Furthermore, manual CITTM is faster than any other reported rate of mechanical extraction. The minimal depth control mechanism available with the manual CITTM is also available on the PCID.This insures that the lowest risk of follicle injury or transection available from a mechanical device. The PCID has the lowest reported rate of follicle transection of any mechanical device.Furthermore, the rate of extraction with the PCID is twice as fast at the rate of manual CITTM extraction. This makes the PCID more than 2 to 3 times faster than other mechanical extractors.

The PCID utilizes the world's sharpest punches. These punches are the thinnest wall punches available. They also have a serrated tip that minimizes the punch contact surface on the skin at any given moment. The combination of the thin wall and serrated tip of these Serrounded punches, make them the ideal punch for use in mechanical FUE.The Serrounded punch is exclusively available for use with the PCID.The low friction reduce the force necessary to cut the grafts. This reduces fluid motion of the skin and the follicles. The reduced force helps keep the entire follicular unit inside the punch and out of harms way.

You will find the extensive variables, the craftsmanship, the minimal depth control mechanism, and the exclusive punches all combine to make the PCID the worlds fastest, safest, and ideal mechanical extractor for FUE.They are exclusively available through Cole Instruments.
