Cole Instruments, Inc. (CII) offers two different styles of punches available in multiple sizes.All CII punches are produced from hardened steel and offer the sharpest cutting edge available.The hardened steel improves the life of the cutting edge.It is possible at times to extract over 2000 grafts with a single CII punch.The CII punch is a thin wall punch designed to reduce friction while cutting grafts.The punch penetrates the skin with less resistance than all other punches on the market.The outside edge-cutting surface is optimal for use with Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).The optimal cutting characteristics along with the minimal depth features of the manual or mechanical punch holders insure the CII punch will produce the fastest rate of extraction along with the lowest rate of follicle injury, which is called follicular transection.

Standard CII Punch

The standard CI punch is designed for use in the Cole Instruments Handle.The sizes vary from 0.8 mm to 1.4 mm.The Cole Instruments handle allows for precise depth control. A combination of depth control and punch size variation allows the physician to minimize the risk of follicle injury.

Surrounded Punches

The Surrounded punch is a serrated tip punch.This punch is much sharper than the standard CII punch.The surrounded punches are available in many different sizes.These punches are exclusively available for use with the Programmable Cole Isolation Device (PCID).The Serrounded punches reduce the cutting surface in contact with the skin at any given moment.This reduces friction even more than with the thin walled, razor sharp standard CII punches.The serrated tip also helps the punch gain a grip on contact with the skin.This feature is particularly useful with the PCID.
